How to use the Soil 7-in-1 Sensor
The Soil 7-in-1 Sensor is a handheld field device. Push it into the soil, wait for readings to stabilise, and sync to the app when you have signal.
- 01
Charge before first use
Plug in via USB-C. Charge fully (typically 3 hours). A full charge gives ~72 hours of typical field use or ~1,500 individual readings.
- 02
Insert the probes
Push the five stainless-steel probes into the soil until the green collar meets the surface. For accurate NPK, avoid dry crust — go 8–10 cm deep. Wait 15 seconds for readings to settle.
- 03
Read on-device
The 2.8" display shows GPS location, moisture, temperature, EC, pH, and N-P-K values in real time. Press the button to save a timestamped reading.
- 04
Sync to the app
Open the KrishiLab app on your phone. Bluetooth-pair once, then tap Sync. All saved readings upload with location. AI Assist gives crop-specific recommendations based on your soil profile.
- 05
Rinse and store
After each session, rinse the probes with clean water and dry with a cloth. Store in the carrying pouch. Re-calibrate against reference solutions once per season (guided in-app).
- ✓Take 3–5 readings across each acre and average them — soil varies more than you'd think even within a small plot.
- ✓Best time to read: early morning or after light rain. Avoid readings on freshly-fertilised soil (wait 48 hours).
- ✓Turn on Live Mode from the app for real-time streaming during irrigation calibration.
